Sculpture
Drawing is the first step in creating my sculptures. I'll make several. Then I create small sculptures of some of the drawings and sometimes while doing this I get a new idea and try it in clay. Next I will choose one idea to make a large sculpture. The finished work may be very different then my original idea. On the small pieces I may experiment with different textures or glazes. Many of my sculptures are smooth instead of textured and the curves and negative shapes are important. I have used two glazes that make the works look like bronze metal with a subtle patina and other matt glazes.
